The third title in the Carmageddon series.

There are three modes of play: "Free Play", which consists of 30 races across 9 different environments; "Campaign", which includes all the races of Free Play mode as well as 25 challenging and individual missions; and "Multiplayer", which features 5 different deathmatch arenas with 7 different network games. The last mode represents the core of the game.

Animated props such as working cranes, lifts, and bridges produce a life-like gaming environment. For the first time, you can customize your car. People in the maps interact with their environment, crossing streets or waiting in front of theatres. The cops are also back again, so watch out!

Technically, the game is up-to-date with graphic and sound rendering technologies at the time of its release, supporting reflections, rain, smoke, shadows, or surround sound, among other things.
