Both the original game and the expansion have been updated to versions 4.0 and 2.0 respectively. The only remaining officially released update not included in the retail package is the "Win 2000/XP Update" (version 5.0) compatibility patch for the base game released in 2002, which does not alter the game mechanics. However, digital releases includes it.
